Shropt
I'm not sure if it's a Voodoo3 thing or not. When I go to my load screen I should see a snapshot with every save. This is not true on my computer. I see a snapshot of the Lucasarts opening on all loads. At this point I am able to load any file with no problem. When I die, (which is a lot in single player) I am unable to load any file on my list. For some reason I have no problem loading the checkpoint but no other files. This could be the same problem as quickload but I don't use quickload. The only fix I have found is to reload the game completely and just start a save. This works but it takes forever. I have a 700 Mhz computer with 128 meg ram. Please hear me Raven. We need a patch for this problem soon. I want to play the single player game but it takes forever to get anywhere with this problem. Esch
Yes unfortunately it is a Voodoo 3 problem. I have those problems as well with the loading. The gameplay however is superb, so it's weird that the video card is freaking out on the interface stuff and not the game itself. I'm now stuck at the first level of Bespin loading. It freezes up when it tries to load it after the cut scene of Lando and Kyle talking in the Lady Luck. So for now I'm completely stuck and can't go on until a patch is made. HC - Exar Kun
MOST VOODOO USERS SHOULD HAVE THIS BY NOW !!!!! VOODOO USERS ONLY Try using Wicked GL You can find it here... http://www.wicked3d.com/products/wickedgl/default.htm/ After you install WickedGL and quake3 drivers if nessicary, open Wglgames.cfg in wordpad. Half way down or so you'll see the line "Quake 3",quake3.exe,opengl32.dll DON'T CHANGE THE NAME IN QUOTES. Changing the name will prevent WickedGL's installer from running. Change the line to... "Quake 3",jk2sp.exe,opengl32.dll Save, and exit. Install the GL drivers using the control panel ( It still says Quake 3 in the game box, but it will really work for Jedi Knight Outcast) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ AFTER INSTALLING WICKED GL If the sky and the gamma is still messed up then do this... You will need to open the jk2mpconfig.cfg file in Wordpad and change a few numbers. This file is located in: "\Jedi Outcast\GameData\base" To fix the sky, find the line that reads: seta r_fastsky "1" Change the 1 to a 0 and the sky should reappear. or vice versa Now, to fix the gamma, find the line that reads: seta r_ignorehwgamma "0" Change the 0 to a 1 and the gamma should be normal. or vice versa Save the file, load JO and you should be good to go. Esch I had the exact same problem (yes, I have a Voodoo 3) but I found that the game didn't actually crash but simply took an extremly long time to load. Try loading it and maybe going of and making a coffee...or 4.
