Darth Gooter
Greetings, I've been enabling the "g_saberRealisticCombat 1" via the console ever since I've gotten my lightsaber and I was curious about something. Is it considered a cheat or just an option setting to display more gore? (I realize you enable it via the cheat command "helpusobi 1" so maybe I answered my own question ). The reason why I ask is I mentioned this setting to my roomie, who is farther in the game than I, and he asked if I was having a difficult time fighting the other jedi in Bespin. I said not really since I usually ended up slicing them in half sooner or later. I then decided to try a little test. I saved at a point right before I had to fight a jedi (the one in the room where you can see Desann's apprentice and a bunch of stormtroopers through the window). I used the gore command for two fights and then I didn't use it for another two fights. The fights without the gore took a lot longer than with it. And, I ended up dying to the jedi in both fights without the gore. Maybe it's considered a cheat because you can drop a "boss" mob in one hit if you slice off a limb or other body section? This has sparked my curiousity more than anything else. Bottom line for anyone who knows, is it a cheat or not? Thanks! [EDIT grammar]
ChronoWarrior
probly. Oh and welcome to the forums. Enjoy your stay. But, beware of the Dark Side......
Kalishnikov
I personally wouldn't consider it a cheat, due to the fact that all the saber wielding enemies now pose a much larger threat.
seanconnery
Remember, the lightsaber-wielding enemies can do the same to you too.
Blenny
But does it actually alter the amount of damage attacks do in any way, or just when their health is low enough to deliver a fatal blow you (or they) will take off whatever body part they strike. I know that even without the code I've struck down sabre-wielding enemies with one skillfull (read: lucky) blow, and occasionally have had them do it to me. seanconnery
Maybe it's all in my head but I find it much easier to kill people with the saber with the code on.
Caster
The code makes lightsabers do more damage and more often. You might notice that with the code on, your saber can and will kill people just by running into them with your lightsaber pointed slightly forward instead of having to swing the saber. So technically, you dont even need to swing your saber to kill some of the lesser targets (read: stormtroopers). -Caster
MechDeus
Caster: You can do that with the code off as well, but it takes longer (that's often how I fight the mini-ED209s, I run up and just hold my saber inside them). The mode definately does more damage and really alters the use of the lightsaber, hence why it's a code. Definately fun, though.
