What do the force crystals do?

I couldn't find any info on this in-game, in the instruction book, or online. I probably didn't search hard enough though.

 

Do the crystals you get from killing the shadow jedi actually do anything?

They fill up your force meter, no more.

that may explain why i was under the impression that the force crystals gave you unlimited force for a very short while. since i usually flicked on force heal right after killing the jedis in the shadowsuits, and watched how the force meter wasn't drained at all. it happened at least a couple of times.

 

or could i have been mistaken?

Mr. Connery is correct. They do nothing more than fill your Force meter.
