MrNoFun
First off, let me say my 700 Athlon and voodoo 3 had LOTS of problems with jedi knight in windows 2000... I could keep the graphics at about medium for every level except the yavin swamp. If I died I had to quit Jk2 completely and restart to load a game(or wait 10 minutes to load). And hosting a multipalyer game screwed up my fonts and caused them to be so block they wern't recognizable as text any more. The same font problems occured on my frineds voodoo 5, and another friends voodoo 2 banche. All of this HAS BEEN FIXED *sings praise to the computer gods*. http://www.wicked3d.com WickedGL, my absolute favorite program for runing unreal tournment on my voodoo, had all my answers hidden in it. Unfortunately, it hasn't been updated in almost a year. If you play quake 3 make sure you install the quake 3 wickedGL drivers FIRST because this will prevent you from installing them after the fact unless you undo this process. After you install WickedGL and quake3 drivers if nessicary, open Wglgames.cfg in wordpad. Half way down or so you'll see the line "Quake 3",quake3.exe,opengl32.dll DON'T CHANGE THE NAME IN QUOTES. Changing the name will prevent WickedGL's installer from running. Change the line to... "Quake 3",jk2sp.exe,opengl32.dll Save, and exit. Install the GL drivers using the control panel (it still says quake 3 in the game box, but it will really work for jedi knight). Vala. Most all my problems are solved... Font works, graphics are almost full (save dynamic lighting and monitor sync which brought my FPS down to 15 in a 4 person lightsaber fight). This fix hasn't been tried yet for my friends voodoo 5 or 2 but I'm sure it will at any rate fix the font while hosting. Good luck to all of us who are too stuborn(or poor) to change video cards.
