Landorin
Without a clear error message and some more details it is hard to say something about it. What is the exact error message, what creates that message (game or OS), what is the stuff about RTCW and so on? As long as you only write things like "something like that, can't remember it" no one can really answer this, I guess. Sincerely Landorin
Netbug
I've got multiple players of the game on a single network behind a router. Now the game works through ports (obviously). What we want to know is, can you change the port that one of the computers behind the networks uses for the game so that the router can be configured to forward to different ports for different connections? Doesn't anybody know if and how this is possible? Netbug
Trelen
Couple of questions: Are you using Internet connection sharing? Are anyl of your machines using a firewall?
Netbug
yes. There is a firewall. It's built into the Linksys 4-port router that I'm using, but that's not the issue (well I guess it is, but I know how to fix it... just not how to get to where I need to to fix it). I just need to change the ports that JKII listens to on one of the machines so that I can tell the firewall to forward to that port. I can't use the default ones because their used by another machine on the network playing JKII. Netbug

Netbug
Unless you are jumping networks LAN gaming shouldn't be a problem. What is the error you are getting on that? I'll see if I can help. I've been able to play lan games fine. Netbug
minm2k
mines all fixed open ur ip config file by typing the ip default on internet explorer or something then open it go to advanced then to forwarding then type the ports u want to add under ext port which are like 28060-28090 after ur done with that check the UDP not the TCP then add ur ip next to that , there should be a box. after that click enable / apply and when u try to go ina server make ur other pc go in first then u canget urs in :) : )
Netbug
So if I do this, I'll be able to get both computers in? Anybody know how/why this should work? (I'm not doubting you, I'm gonna go try it now, I'm just not comprehending the logic of why this works). So ok... I get the PC that the ports ARE NOT forwarded to to connect to the servers first, then try to connect with the one with the forwarding? I'll try now. Thanks. PopSicko
2 computers, linksys router, dmz enabled, port fowarding and port triggering range correct...I can't get anyone to see the server on the net. my ip is not seen but the routers is. block wan requests disabled. XP's joke firewall disabled. Someone please come up with a configurating for people behind routers that want to host games. I'm gonna work on this and if I can get it working I'll let you know what config works for me. Also, when my roomate and I join the same server the ping goes nuts and becomes unplayable on a 1.5/128 cable connection.(Not enough upstream bandwidth?) Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Netbug
So I get an email back from lucas tech basically stating exactly what I told them. I send them a reply saying "ya, I kwno this but how do I CHANGE the PORT that JKII listens on?" They send me another email saying that I have to change the port settings on my router to the predefined ones. I don't think they're getting enough oxygen over there I swear. So I came up with an idea for any programmers out there that would like to earn the respect and admiration of dozens. Anybody know much about VB and Network applications? Is it possible and how would one going about making a small application to run while playing JKII that could redirect information coming in on another port to the JKII ports? Ie. I tell my router to forward all JKII information to 192.168.1.103 on ports 50000 - 50030. Then the application would listen on those ports and change them to the JKII ports. This making any sense? Anybody know if it can be done? Netbug
