Emptea
Whenever i play a multiplayer game after about 10mins the game freezes suddenly without any error message. To get out of it i have to restart my computer. Singleplayer works fine without the freezing so i am not sure what the problem is. My computer specs are: Athlon Xp 1500 1024 Ram 50 gig hard drive Geforce 3 ti200 Soundblaster live Windows xp I have tried everything to fix it but nothing seems to work 1) I've used the latest nvidia drivers and the v23.11 2) Turning off gl extensions 3) Changingmy desktop resolution ( i heard somewhere this can fix it) 4) Installing latest soundblaster live drivers 5) Adding 'com_hunkmegs 512' to my config file 6) Putting graphics and sound to lowest quality 7) Turning off direct sound acceleration Lowering the quality of the graphics and sound allows me to play for about 20 mins but i still get freezing. Anyone know what to do?
)edi)ourneyman
I'm usig XP also, and I'm having problems with JKII lockups. The only way to get out is to ctrl+alt+del and task out. And even then my desktop is stuck in 16 color mode or something. Looks like crap. Then I have to reboot to get everything back to normal. I think its a Windows thing. I wish developers and publishers would add Linux to their platform support. I'm tired of rebooting every 20 minutes.

KrazyDude
i am having similar problems. But i found that with the latest nvidia detonator drivers from nvidia.com my game no longer crashes with a blue screen. I only get the regular crashes. Sometimes they are freezes, and sometimes crash to desktop. I am not sure how to fix this yet. I have beaten the sp through all this, and played mp, and i love it, but i am afraid i will have to uninstall simply because it is way too annoying to play like that. aisandler
This problem isn't unique to JK2, I was having the same problem with Return to Castle Wolfenstein. The problem, for whatever reason, seems to be more persistent in JK. The hunkmeg solution worked for me in Wolf, and now I could go maybe 1.5 hours before the freeze occurs. As Wolf and JK are the only 2 games I have played in the last 2 months, this problem has become an inevitable, natural occurance for me, i expect it whenever I play. I KNOW the problem is video card related, as whenever my computer boots up after the problem, it reports the Nvidia_disp driver as the culprit. I have tried the two latest version of the drivers, but to no avail. Tonight I am going to try the 23.11 drivers and reinstalling DirectX 8.1. If anyone has a solution, please please please post it. In case you care, My system Specs: P3 550mhz 256 Ram Geforce 2 XP Pro Adam:atat:
