Hi everybody! I haven't got my copy of Jedi Outcast yet but I have experienced a lot of problems with MOHAA.

I have decided to format my disk and then install everything from scratch including Jedi Outcast. MOHAA didn't run well at all, very choppy (almost unplayable even on the lowest settings). My question is, should I install Windows XP pro or Windows ME for best performence? (

My specs:

Intel Celeron 768 MHZ

320 MB RAM

Aopen mx 34 (via 4 in 1 driver) Onboard sound: AC97 Codec, latest driver.

Geforce 2 mx 400 64 mb (driver v. 23.11)

10 GB HD

Atapi Cdrom 44x

Windows XP

its true, Windows XP is the most stable platform for PC computing in history. well, excluding Linux, but those Linux ppl are a different breed. i love my XP and would never go back. that includes my Windows 98 SE days. XP is solid as a rock and once you install the critical updates and security patches from http://www.microsoft.com you will be fine. there are some small driver issues and other stuff but all that is a small price to pay for unprecidented stability and performance. installing XP upped my FPS in all my games by 10-15 FPS, it increased my computers effeciency on the internet extreemly well. there is the ability to have multiple users with unique interfaces. so if your mom, gf, wife wants to check her hotmail and not look at your porn desktop or all those game icons, she just has to log into the PC as herself and viola, none of your crap is in her way!

i sound like an XP Commercial, ill shut up now, i say go for it with XP, you wont regret it.

Ok, I'll think about it. By the way, wich applications do I need running in the background in order to get the best performance in a game. In earlier versions you only needed explorer and systray but what about Windows Xp?

And should I be able to play MOHAA on my system and if yes, does anyone know why I get so bad performance?

Windows XP is so damn smart that it doesnt run anything "in the background" if you hit "ctr-alt-del" a windows pops up and ONLY shows the current .exe type program you are running, no systray no explorer. its based on the Windows NT kernal and is uber smart. it also has a running graph of CPU usage and at an idle desktop it is using 0-5% of your CPU power. it is one SMART OS!!
