hmm good question... i have also have installed wicked gl for JO and as far as i can tell it is not doing anything. the only difference ive seen is that my graphics settings are now at high and not medium. supposedly ifyou have the demo a promt screen opens before you start the game saying that you are useing it... this also does not happen for me either :(

Have you all done this yet ?

After you install WickedGL and quake3 drivers

if nessicary, open Wglgames.cfg in wordpad.

Half way down or so you'll see the line

"Quake 3",quake3.exe,opengl32.dll

DON'T CHANGE THE NAME IN QUOTES.

Changing the name will prevent

WickedGL's installer from running.

Change the line to...

"Quake 3",jk2sp.exe,opengl32.dll

Save, and exit. Install the GL drivers using the control panel

( It still says Quake 3 in the game box, but it will really work for Jedi Knight Outcast)

If you've already done this let me know and I'll see if I can fix it.

update your voodoo drivers to the latest possible.

go here for voodoo drivers:

http://nat.mine.nu:81/3dfx/

that's the link for win98 and voodoo3 3000...for the 1.07 drivers which are the latest you can get for that

card.

now go to your jedi knight 2 directory and go to the game data directory.

it it you'll find these two files:

jk2mp.exe and jk2sp.exe

rename jk2mp to Quake3

now install the wickedGL program and then run the wickedGL control panel and look for Quake3

in your jedi knight 2/game data directory.

have it install the driver.

now go back to your jedi knight 2/game data directory and rename Quake3 back to jk2mp.

follow the same procedure now for jk2sp

once you have both files updated by wickedGL and have renamed them back to their original names,

you can start up jk2 and you should see a screen that says that this is the

WickedGL shareware and press 'C' to continue

after that you should be rocking!

downloaded WickedGL from

http://www.wicked3d.com/technology/wickedgl.htm

and install it.
