Locking up every 5 minutes

This game is really getting me angry!

 

The game locks up at random, in what seems like an infinite sound loop. A windows xp message then pops up, and it breaks to the desktop (which is in a really bright contrast).

This makes the game totally unplayable, and spoils what looks like a really good game.

I got exactly the same problem (freezing and bright desktop) but raven doesn't seem to care....so many users got this kind of crash, but these threads aren't sticky, I don't know why...

Guys,

Windows XP and the game conflict when GL Extensions are turned ON. I had the same exact problem. Turn GL Extensions OFF in Video Options. That should clear up your crashes every 5 minutes.

 

Also, when crashing to desktop, as you've seen, it appears that the game's gamma or brightness settings transfer to desktop. I fixed it each time by going to Display Properties and just clicking one of my Color Correction sliders.
