Help!

[Murrough]

When i load up the game it works fine, i go to new game, select difficulty lvl, and hit Begin game, it goes to the lightsaber picture/design and then crashes to desktop and says Not a JPEG file: starts with 0xdc 0x9c

 

this is what the sceen says that first appears when loading:

also, when installing the game, my CD rom stoped loading the game up, does the same thing when i install Diablo 2, it starts whirring really fast then stops, and does that over and over again, but never loads/reads anything, so i ejected the CD, then put it back in and it went back to loading.

 

any help is greatly appriciated.
