Strange lockup during SP and MP load

When I first got this game installed on my 'puter, I had no trouble. I had pretty much all the graphics maxed and my performance wasn't too bad concidering my system. However, now when ever I put the CD in to play and I click on the MP or SP bar at the autorun menu, the console thing comes up fine and goes to the white screen. Normally, the white screen comes on briefly then the lucas arts and raven logo stuff plays. Now, my comp just freezes at the white screen. Any suggestions.

GF2MX400

32bit color

yeah i have the same problem, but only in WinME and the problem has happened since i installed the game it has never worked. in windows XP though the game goes to a black screen and i can hear my monitor changing modes then goes back to windows and the console reads

i have latest detonators for both ME and XP, and latest directx for both.
