Lockhe
Hi All, I am having some problems with JK2:JO as my subject line obviously states. My first problem is that volumetric shadowing does not work properly for me. The polygons used for the shadows are completely broken up and interfere with the polygons making up the characters. It looks like I'm trying to play the game on a Voodoo 1 card or something else from the past. I have fiddled with everything, but to no avail. Simple shadows works fine. My second problem is that I have texture warping and flickering going on. Not alot, but enough to be annoying. I play the game at 800x600 with 32 bit colour depth and everything else on high setting. My third problem is that the game crashes on me while I am still on the first mission. I am at the part after I restore the power to those consoles in the middle of this huge room with a pit and 3 catwalks to a blue, green, and red coloured hallways. I go down to the doorway where you can hear a stormtrooper shout, "Don't fire in here! There are gaslines!" Somebody fires anyway and boom. I go in walk a bit down that tunnel, turn around and head back to the door and that's when the game crashes on me. It always happens when I head back to the door. My computer specs are as follows: PIII 700MHz 128MB SDRAM Geforce 2 TI 64MB DDR w/newest Detonator driver 28.32 SB Live! X-Gamer Anyone else have any of these problems? I would appreciate it if anyone could shed some light on the solution to my problems. Oh, on a side note, I get none of these problems whatsoever in multiplayer. Go figure... Doppler
I do not play with Volumetric Shadows at all. Stick with Simple. I think you will find others around here do as well. Volumetric on my system does virtually the same thing. Strange facial graphics on the characters. For everything else, have you set GL Extensions to OFF? Worked wonders for me. I was crashing about every 5 to 10 min on the first level, turned them OFF, and now at like level 12 with no further complications. Also try going to 800x600x16 and see what that does for you. :atat:
