JRA_Wolf Posted April 4, 2002 Posted April 4, 2002 For all of you guys waiting for me to finish that tutorial..here it is http://12.232.4.81/wolf/tutorial/index.html Also, I forgot to mention on the page that I use Photoshop 5.5.. Hope you enjoy, Wolf
JRA_Wolf Posted April 4, 2002 Author Posted April 4, 2002 oh, also forgot to add that these are just my techniques for doing things. You will probably find some better tutorials online for doing clothe and whatnot, but oh well
SkataN Posted April 4, 2002 Posted April 4, 2002 Hey thanks wolf, I thought it was gonna be one of those things where you just told us you would help and hope that we would eventually forget.
Danica Posted April 4, 2002 Posted April 4, 2002 sweet tutorial wolf....but can you add a section about shirts??
JRA_Wolf Posted April 4, 2002 Author Posted April 4, 2002 The tutorial is meant so that the techniques can be applied to any number of things. For a shirt, just remember where the cloth folds: Armpits, around the belt/pants (if tucked into them), elbow and shoulder, and if on a female, around the breasts, unless the clothes are supposed to be tight fitting. Simply take my tutorial for doing the leg and change it to fit the needs of the shirt or whatever you're skinning.
Danica Posted April 4, 2002 Posted April 4, 2002 I get the whole folds thing...it's just eh...you can't use a small rectangle to make a shirt..how do you make the general shape?
SkataN Posted April 4, 2002 Posted April 4, 2002 hey, cut wolf some slack....try and try stuff yourself dont ask about every ddetail....just experiment and trial and error
Danica Posted April 4, 2002 Posted April 4, 2002 look skatan I think it's a great tutorial and I really love the facial hair section...all I want to know is how you create the general shape of items of clothing! ....not all of us know these things right away
JRA_Wolf Posted April 4, 2002 Author Posted April 4, 2002 Well, it all depends on how the model was unwrapped. Like the kyle skin, for example has a different shaped torso than the Stormtrooper. it all depends on the model itself. If you want to make a selection that isn't square/rectangular, try the polygonal lasso tool. (on the left toolbar, there should be a cirucular lasso. Press and hold, then select the second option, which is the polygonal version). Hope that helps.
Danica Posted April 4, 2002 Posted April 4, 2002 yes it does...thanks wolf...say ...do you think if I was making a shirt to go on the kyle model I could use his original shirt as a template of sorts to get the idea for the shape of the new shirt?
JRA_Wolf Posted April 4, 2002 Author Posted April 4, 2002 Yup, that could work fine. Just remember to use layers, so you can change the opacity, etc.
SkataN Posted April 8, 2002 Posted April 8, 2002 Thought id just refresh this post by jra_wolf from page 5 of forums, Incase anyone wants to learn something new.
SkataN Posted April 12, 2002 Posted April 12, 2002 Hey wolf, this site doesn't work anymore, think you could fix it?
SkataN Posted April 13, 2002 Posted April 13, 2002 Well if it works for you, then I don't know whats wrong because whenever i click on it, it times out, and this is the only page that does that.
B0MBER II Posted April 13, 2002 Posted April 13, 2002 The blackcut server is down It's always down, it sucks but all of us (JRA clan including me and Wolf) usually stay with Blackcut because he (Black) gives us free space and no restictions on our stuff
