agentz Posted April 4, 2002 Posted April 4, 2002 How do I do this?? Everytime I zip a file with winzip, I don't have the option to change .zip to .pk3, because I can't see .zip on the file name. And if I add .pk3 to the file, it just adds .zip after it so it still stays a zip file (example saber_white.pk3.zip) This is driving me crazy!! Someone that knows what they're doing please help a stupid newbie!!
XorKaya Posted April 4, 2002 Posted April 4, 2002 hehe... save it as a zip, then in windows, just rename the extension to a pk3
UniKorn Posted April 4, 2002 Posted April 4, 2002 That is because your windows is set to hide its file extensions : In windows explorer: Goto Tools/Folders/Options View Tab Uncheck Hide File Extensions for known filetypes Then you'll see the .zip extension => you will be able to rename it to pk3 UniKorn Mapper 4 Wired Lamp Studios http://www.wiredlampstudios.com
JRA_Wolf Posted April 4, 2002 Posted April 4, 2002 That's the thing - He can't, because he can't see the extension to begin with. To enable extensions, go to tools -> Folder options, then click the View tab. Unchecl "Hide file extensions for known file types", and you should be all set (edit) bah, unikorn beat me to it
CrazyJedi Posted April 4, 2002 Posted April 4, 2002 Somewhere in the windows options there's a "hide extensions of known file types" option. Uncheck that box, and you'll be able to see the .zip extention.
CrazyJedi Posted April 4, 2002 Posted April 4, 2002 Oops...this has already been said twice. Didn't see those posts for some reason.
agentz Posted April 4, 2002 Author Posted April 4, 2002 thank god, i was going crazy, i knew there was a way to show the extensions, just couldn't find it, thanks again everybody
