d39
Well so far my fps have been fine, and only slowing down when a major explosion happens. My question is I've reached the swamp, and my fps have dropped big time. It seems that my system does this when ever I'm on a level that is outside, like in MOHAA the winter sniper level was the same way. Is this because of the fog, and if so what can I do to improve my gameplay. I've already dropped my screen size, and knocked back on the graphics, but it's still not like it was on the earlier levels. Thanks for any help. The quake3 engine was never designed for outdoor terrain rendering, but Raven has to get it in shape for SOF2, I think they decided to sort of use JK2 for a prebeta test, yes any level outside cripples the machine. As to fog, you might try changing the particle density, or disabeling it [though this is pretty much cheating] thorugh the console. r_fogDistance should be what you want, but........
