Game crashes while in the control menu

Good morning,

 

I have had some fairly strange and consistant problems with the menu and game crashes. It seems that when I am setting up my controls or any other activity for more than a couple of minutes the game freezes.

 

To combat this, I usually decide what I am going to change and execute the changes very very quickly. If I still have to make up my mind as to the settings, I will go back into the game for a few minutes then go back to the menu. That seems to help but I still have to be fast.

 

Sometimes I can simply restart the system but most of the time its a hard boot situation. When it locks up and will allow me back to my desktop it is an extreamly bright aqua blue color and requires a restart.

 

The odd thing is that the game runs like a champ; no lock ups, freezes, or burps to speak of during actual gameplay. I am amazed with how smooth everything is concidering the complexity of the environment. If it was not for the menu glitch the game would be perfect.

 

Is anyone else having this problem?
