ummester Posted April 4, 2002 Share Posted April 4, 2002 Game is great. Only one thing annoys me and that is the volumetric shadows. They annoy me because they almost look brilliant (remember the shadows in severance: blade of darkness - they were brilliant and JKII's shadows come so very close and then decide to randomly dissapear into the faces on character meshes as they move.) Now, I know the shadow config commands. 0= none. 1=blobs. 2=volumetric as in game options. 3=simple volumetric projections which map in one direction over everything. What I want to know is how to leave the volumetric 2 on as a projection from the charater but stop it mapping on the characters themselves. Is that a possibilty? Does anyone know the Q3 engine well enough to tell me how to do it? I know it can be done because Medal of honour has exactly that kind of shadow and it's the same engine.
