MinusBlindfold
Okay, first off. Install JKII bump it up to full detail. Runs greats. Yesterday, I'm playing single player, and I start getting this clear "ring" looking think around any type of shader. its like the glow around my lightsaber has this little O just near the edge thats clear. First I think its just some of the games special effects on the saber. I run up to a light. Its just this huge outline of where a shader is. Its supposed to be a red light. But its got this big dark, dark red outline inlined in the light. So then I know something is up. I mess around with my video settings. Turn it to the "Fastest" factory default. The ring isn't there anymore. Then from there I bump up my video settings until they are all the way back up, checking each time i turn them up making sure its not there. Now my singleplayer runs fine. 1024x768, very high tex, high geo lvl, 32bit colour and so on. Go into multiplayer yesterday... I get the rings in there. So I screw around with my video. Get everything back to normal. Happens again last night. But this time when I fix it... NO SKY! So basically what it boils down to is that if I don't have the ring in my shader effects, I have no sky. But if I have a sky, I have the weird rings. If ANYONE knows how to fix this and STOP it from happening over and over. I just don't get how it would be fine one day. Then overnight the video modes switch???? My set up is a 1.2ghz amd athlon, radeon 7500 64mb, 256ram, sb live! x-gamer 5.1. And I know if I can run it in full detail one day, I should be able to run it the next. I wish the screenshot I got of it worked. But I get this weird tetris looking mixed image of the game. I'll try and get a good pic of it somehow if no one has a clue what I'm talking about. MinusBlindfold
Ok I read on some other threads that /seta r_fastsky 0 worked for some people. But not for me. I go to "Fast" default setting again. It doesnt do it. I enter the command WHILE playing. And it goes to 16bit color mode on the sfx and shaders again. help! I want my skies back without having the agrivating sfx. :(
