TRA_KiE
Does ANYBODY know what is going on with my comp?? I installed JK2 fine, and when i try to get it to start the monitor switches off?!?! I've downloaded the latest detonator drivers, but after i installed them i recieved a RUNDLL error when i logged into windows. I tried downloading them & reinstalling them again, and same problem. I even tried formatting and installing everything again Anybody got any ideas please? My system is: 533MhZ AMD K6 192Mb RAM Nvidia TNT2 Riva 32mb gcard Strange thing is this, that i tried installing the game and running it when i had no Gcard and it worked... VERY slowly and jumped a lot, but it still worked. Now i can't even get into the game

HC - Exar Kun
The version 28.32 drivers are your problem.... Try getting a version 27.* or maybe even a little earlier version of the Detonator drivers.... HC-Exar-Kun

TRA_KiE
OS is Win 98 SE Any ideas aside from getting earlier drivers? KiE
HC - Exar Kun
I've read about MANY problems with JO and the Detonator 28.32 drivers... Seems like going to older drivers fixes the problem... Other than that I'd have to look for a while for a fix.... HC-Exar-Kun

KiE maybe, but I need more information first, particularly about your motherboard, if possible and sound card. I have a hunch its a via chipset on the motherboard. However, for now, uninstall your video drivers [use control panel add/remove], then check your registry [regedit] for the word nvidia, delete all instances you find. [remember back this thing up before you play with it.] Note on registry deleting if its ina folder for a game, you cn ignore it, or delte it, its your call, the game will redetect the hardware each time it is run. Also, try loooking for any files in teh system or system32 fodler from nvidia and delete them. usually nvidia files have the letters nv for the first part of the name, but try right clicking and checking the file properties also. Guess i should have finnished this, now install nvidia's detonators after a reboot. if windows tried to autoddetect a card tell it you want to specify and specify a standard VGA card. This will ensure that old registry entries and old drive files are not the cause of the issue, this tends to happen if you do not uninstall video drivers and insted install new ones over old ones. do check on that motherboard though, I will personally never buy another via chipset, too much to add motherboard drivers to the config fray in my opinion. However, you should at least update your AGP driver no matter what chipset you have, hit my sig link for the various motherboard chipset drivers after you figure out which one you have. Either my sig is not being attached or i don;pt get to see my own sig, in any event http://www.afn.org/~afn03257/driver.html
HC - Exar Kun
Good idea WhiteChedda.... You may need to update if you're using older VIA 4 'n' 1 drivers or other VIA chipsets....
The_BZA
what kind of monitor do you use? could the refresh rate of the resolution that both A) the game and B) the gfx card support NOT be supported by your old monitor and it is shutting off? i had this happen when i got my new GeForce 2 Ti card when i first tried to play Q3 based games. so, what kind of monitor do you have, what resolution is it running windows at? what refresh rate is it running windows at? things to look into.
