I have a SMC router so this will not be a help to anyone but the people with SMC routers. As for people that are not behind a home router it's still a mystery to me. Hope this helps someone. For reference here is my set up. 1. Cable modem connection 2. SMC cable/dsl router 3. 2 cpu's on my internal network 1 for play, 1 for dedicated serving 4. Dedicated server has been set as DMZ host in the router config (think I might have opened up the port to forward to that machine to??? don't remember) 5. That exposes the entire machine to the internet, I think if you just port forward to you server IP and manual assign the DHCP IP that is given to the server by your router you won't have your whole ass hanging out in the breeze! just one cheek!
