TriggerThompson
After playing Jedi Knight II with my Voodoo 3 3000 I've come to realize that its time to retire it to the closet. I'm considering buying a Gainwood GeForce 3 TI 200 w/ 128 RAM and 5NS or 4NS(whichever is better of the two, hopefully someone can let me know on here) video card. I'm going for this because its cheap and I've heard from a friend that it can be overclocked to run close to a TI 500 I believe without too much extra cooling. Please give me your opinions on this. As picky as this game is if it runs everything fine I'm sure all the other games out there now will be a breeze. Thanks for any and all help, William T. Doppler
What are your system specs? A new video card can do wonders. But attempting to overclock a new video card and not having the cpu support to resolve the speed, is like running into a wall. You just wouldn't see much difference, other than a hotter running video card. I would suggest either the Ti200 or something in the Radeon line of cards. You basically have two streets you can travel down. My favorite place to shop online, NewEgg.com, has both the Ti200 and Radeon 8500 for $130. Between those two, I'd say go with the Radeon. :atat:
HC - Exar Kun
As an overall the ATI Radeon 8500 is the best bet for a new card. It very stable, comes with pretty reliable drivers for everything. And has the least amount of problems with any video card i've seen in the last year... Its your best bet, especially if you buy it online.
TriggerThompson
I am currently running a 900 AMD Thunderbird w/ 400 MB Ram. Hopefully I shouldn't have too much trouble running any kind of newer video card. I hadn't really considered any other cards at the time so I'd just like to thank you guys for replying to the post and giving your opinion on the subject. I'll be sure to check out the ATI Radeon 8500. Thanks, William T. Thompson
