I got into some air vents, but at the end there was a shaft that I couldn't get down without dying (even by dropping from light to light) so I somehow doubt that it's through there... I thought I was backing up on myself, but you have to go through some air vents (you have to lower yourself down the air shaft with the fan - make sure you turn it on in the control room thing) then go through some vents and you go back out into the tunnels (with the green stuff).
