Saber battling suggestions

Hi All JKII players:

I¡¯ve finished the game and joined a few online battles since I got my copy of JKII. Here are some of my thoughts that might be interesting to you:

The Saber Defense system enhancement: As far as I¡¯ve been playing on the net, I noticed Saber Defense is far less effective in multiplayer mode than in single player. Even if you set Saber Defense at level 3, it¡¯s just not working very well. Maybe our honorable developers want it to be balanced in Multiplaying, and make it less effective so all other weapons have a chance hitting those players who wield their sabers all days long. But hey, what not just disable the automatic saber defense system or make it even less effective as it does now, and add a new stance called ¡°Defensive Stance¡±? In my opinion such stance should be like this:

1. Define a specific key to execute it, and by holding the key allows players enter the defensive stance. Whenever players release the button, they leave the stance.

2. The stance should be based on levels, making it more and more effective in higher force level (use the setting of single player mode, when in highest level, players can deflect/block most of the attacks (including saber attacks) come in the arc in front of them.).

3. Players now move at walking speed.

Players cannot attack when blocking, however, they can attack immediately once they release the stance button.

Players cannot enter the stance until they are fully recovered from the last attack motion.

Every 2 or 3(variable due to the balance concern) successfully blocking drains a meter (variable) of players force power. When the force power meter is empty, players [leave/cannot execute] the stance.

Players in the defensive stance are immune to following force powers only when the level of these force power is lower or equal to the level of saber defense (at a cost of force power meter more than normal blocking):

Force push

Force pull

Force grip

When the level of above force is higher than the defender¡¯s saber defense level, the attacking force will breach through the defense and leave an opening for attack.

That is all I can think about now, please join the discussion and share your opinion. Seriously I myself like this idea very much; hopefully our developers will take this into consideration and make it a new feature available in next patch or add on.

Together we will make this game better!

PS: Please forgive my poor grammar as I am not a native English speaker.

ehm..why did your text suddenly change to almost a copy of a patch readme file of improvements suddenly in the middle ? anyways...

The SP battling system works as a charm...i love it...but just some minutes ago i was battling with some guy who really knew the game secrets a bit... my life span were like 4 seconds... and i was dead... of course he was using the slow saber teqnique and dark force which makes you fight faster which i cant remember what it is called...but anyways....works damn good.. and there is no way to defend yourself either....and i have noticed that it AINT a small hit point you should jump away from...but for some weird reason.... the hits work like a bomb...there is a huuge area you cant walk in..... which i find pretty lame and stupid to have... in my opinion.. all that should be deadly...is the saber itself ...not anything outside of it....

I really begin to doubt the future of online play of JK 2 strongly now...since the dark side and its deadly system works too good for those light side users...and then there is no fun.... it should be even like in JK Dark Forces 2

I'm a lightsider, and I play MP fairly often, I normally finish in the top 3 when playing FFA, so I'd say it's balanced, as all those things darksiders can do to attack, the lightsiders have loads of things to defend against them and then counter-attack! :)

I haven't played with the options myself, but I noticed that there are command-line thingies you can type in the console to *disable* the auto-blocking feature. Of course, this would then require you to bind a key to the "+block" feature (I think that's what it's called). From what I read briefly, it seems that this works the same way as an attack button would, in that you would have to hold the key down to block.

The more I think about it, the more I think I'd appreciate a system where you'd have to exert some effort to block--that would put a lot more into saber battles, to say the least!
