rancid
ok in the sabers.shader look at this at this part wich is at the bottem of the file. gfx/effects/sabers/saberBlur { cull disable { clampmap gfx/effects/sabers/blurcore blendFunc GL_ONE GL_ONE rgbGen vertex } { clampmap gfx/effects/sabers/blurglow blendFunc GL_ONE GL_ONE rgbGen identity } } see the blur core and blure glow. well put them in photoshop and alter them with some colors.say you are making a black saber. add just a hint of color to the 2 jpgs. Not enough just a bit. they will still look grayish the color is subtle. now add the shader file to your black saber pk3. now when you move the saber it will look blackish just like the core of the saber.!! here is the down side, so will all other sabers colors. Ive tried renaming the shader files n such, i just cant seem to change only one saber .This doesnt change the color on the florr from the saber.just when it moves. Hope this helps in getting new saber colors working. randy rancidm@pacbell.net

Kx_Dra_Sycdan
oh i feel stupid now.. I must have missed that meessage. Don't worry about it, with the amount of fodder that get's posted here on a daily basis it's very easy to miss a relevant post. Nice saber by the way. Garik Loran
Don't have to feel stupid. The fact that we all found the same things shows me that there is really no way editing the fully sabers right now.
Vorax
I have never done it, but you probably can edit the saber colors. QIII games use .tga files for weapons effects, they are not stored in the normal directory structure though. Some guys at the Raven BBS edited all the weapons and there effects for Elite Force, I would be the process is the same. Just as you found the generic overlay image and changed it, there will be other ones for the basic colors....most likely. If you go to that BBS someone might be able to give you a tip as to how Raven did this last time...ie, what directories they found the weapons effects in. - Vorax
