Barred
Ok I hope some one can help as I have tried Activision UK on this twice now and gotten no where. 3 times now I have lost some of the keyboard controls with no warning when on MP as a client but they work when I host! I have tried removing the cfg and letting it rebuild it to no avail. 3 times now I have had to re-install to a different partition and every time it has asked if I want to keep my save games and 3 times I have said yes and 3 times it has deleted them. The first time I was at the end of level 18. The second on level 11. This time level 14. I am not bothereing again untill I can find away for this to stop happening again. System:- XP1800 XP Pro Geforce 3 (28.35) Audigy (latest drivers) 1 gig DDR 10 gig of free space on Primary partition Please help or it stays off my HD (which is a shame as I love the game) Honour
jason-alaska
I can't help with the missing keyboard short cuts but I can help with the save games. In order for the saved games to show back up in a reinstall you have to reinstall in the EXACT same directory you originaly installed the game in. That is where the save game files are located. I think (This is speculation only) that if you check your hard drive for the other install directories you'll find your original install directories still there. But the've been stripped of everything except save games and configs. Copy which ever save game you want and copy it over the top of your existing directory. (Make a back up of your save games in the most currant install directory first). That should fix that one problem Good luck!
Barred
Thanks tried that. The first time I reinstalled to the same dir and the key problem was still there and the saves were not seen. The really upsetting thing is that the MP with the sabres is fantastic and is what really seperates JO from any other Q3 based game. The amount of thought that went in to this to make it different from what is in effect a Total Quake conversion is obviouse. I really don't like getting narked or posting in the tone that I originally did as I know what goes into making a game these days (spent 6 years as a 3D modeler and level designer) but to be honest I do not like the pre Sabre levels and the thought of doing it all again is upsetting. Other wise GREAT JOB RAVEN. Respect
