Nickeleye
Ok, here's my system: Abit KT7-Raid AMD Athlon 1 GHz 512 RAM Radeon 8500 (64 meg) 270/270 Windows 98 I just got the card today and installed it. I'm curious what settings I should have the card set at to optimize it for my system and my games. I'd like to max out JO if possible and run it at 1024x768 with smooth framerates. I downloaded the new 9012 drivers and installed them. I also entered my CMOS setup and enabled my 4x AGP. Anybody have any ideas?

renz0r
Open up your computer case, remove the card, then insert a Geforce4.

phr0mb0x
The TI 4600 that for the price you could buy 2 or 3 8500's for. The frames aren't double. They have the same features, the big difference is the AA. Nvidia Multi-Samples and ATI Super Samples. They will get a clue and figure this out. Since it is a driver implementation it is correctable. Here is what you need to do, grab AT LEAST 6043 drivers, possibly Red or Omega, search the formus on rage3d or I think they have links to them. Next you can slam it sideways by running 1024x768 or it runs great at 1280 by 1024. Change the options to 16 bit, and crank all of the options down, unless you're playing single player. Be sure to use Billinear and disable decals/lighting etc. I have an 800 MHz P3 and it will run about 60-90 FPS on an LE at 1024, at 1280, I stay around 50 FPS. There are times that it will drop lower but it is fine. The quality is still great with those options.
