Destroying the Ion Cannons

I've made it outside on Kejim Base, and am attempting to dispatch the ion cannons.

 

The big guns on top of the mountain don't seem to damage them. Are they shielded, or is there another way I'm missing?

 

Any help here is appreciated.

ok, dont shoot at them it wont do any good, they have shield. If you look good, you see there is a side way around the ion cannons, walk through the sideway, and watch out the ion cannon's shield will hurt you. If you keep walking at the end there is a door, get inside and do your stuff.
