This ties in with the MP thread.

Well I finally solved my inability to not play MP games. I was the guy with the p4 1.6a system. My MSI motherboard has an MPS setting in the bios, which I found strangely odd (I also own a dual p3 system). I just assumed this might have something to do with hyperthreading, when it came to the desktop, instead of just high end Xeons. Anywho, of course my p4 was installed as an MPS Uniprocessor system. No big deal right? Wrong!! I changed it to standard PC and I was instantly in and playing in MP. Obviously this is of no benifit to you dual proc guys as you lose the benifits of your two procs. However, to those guys with single procs experiencing the problem, check to make sure you are installed as a standard PC, and not MPS Uniprocessor. If not, change it and you should be golden. Update here and let others know your results.

Jack
