scoobz
I have a simple question with the console commands. Lately I have been running my own server, but I don't know the commands in the console to change the gametype... etc... everytime I wnat to change something, I have to exit, change at the menu and restart... but I'm sure you can change gametypes etc in the console and then restart the map. Can anyone help? Someone said g_gametype # - I don't know if this works, but also what #'s correspond to which games? Also - I normally play with forces off and saber only - but I saw one person that typed in something on his server, and it didn't give you any weapons to start off with - but you could collect them on the map along with the other items. Any idea?? Any console commands that will change the type of game will help without me having to close the server and restart it again.
JaffoGLIDE
These instructions assume you are running a 'Dedicated' server, a separate system than the one you play JK2 on... First off, you need to set the rcon password in the server.cfg (or whichever) config file for the dedicated server. Then while playing you need to enter into the console set rcon_password <password> This will let you issue commands to the server from your remote console (thus rcon) simply by typing things like rcon kick badplayer As for other commands, I am pretty much a n00b myself to dedicated server admin, but I have found a few pages that talk about rcon for Q3. They have been quite helpful, and you can also always type cmdlist in the console to get a list of commands. Try a few searches with your engine of choice on the net...I know you'll find something. I am sure there is TONS more info, but that's all I have. Good luck! JaffoGLIDE jaffo.homeip.net
