I will give the basic plot: This pilot, while sort of a rebel, goes up against his commanding officer, goes out on a flight on christmas over bosnia, 3 days before the withdrawal of NATO forces. He flies over a mass murder grave takes pictures of it. While taking pictures, they are then shot down by a SAM (surface to air missile) They both land, the pilot breaks his leg, and the navigator lives. When the navigator goes to radio, the serbians jump the injured soldier, and they kill him. He yells, giving away the fact he is alive. He is now being chased by the serbian army through Bosnia.
