VinnieW
Does JK2 support 3D sound, like Eax and/or A3D. I can't see an option in the sound menu and I really like it when it supports EAX effects, because that's the reason I have a SB Live. So if anybody know how to enable EAX please tell me. jasho
RAVEN's FAQ states that the game currently is undergoing testing for EAX. There is a feature that you can type into the console to turn it on, but it has not been tested so they warn to use at your own risk. I believe that when they release a patch, EAX will be a fully-tested feature.
AndyK
i activated eax, but it sounds awfull, turn it off again the voices sound as from a long distance and a bit metalic and they are so calm, that you can't hear them, even on full range Andy http://www.yiya.de
Forgen
If your sound card supports Dolby Surround / Dolby Digital, you can get really awesome 3d surround from JK2 by chaning the line seta s_UseOpenAL "0" to seta s_UseOpenAL "1" in your jkconfig.cfg. You may want to try this, just to see if it will help your cards supports it, but I don't believe it will do anything for EAX/A3D only cards. Good luck, -=Forgen
VinnieW
How to activate it then? I merely wonder how, so I can say for myself if it is bad or not.
jasho
You can activate it two ways: 1) Open jk2config.cfg and changing/adding the line seta s_UseOpenAL "1" 2) Bring down the console (SHIFT + ~) and type: s_UseOpenAL 1 This should do the trick. I would personally use option 1 since you know it will be active when you start the game.
