Lord Nodata Posted April 9, 2002 Posted April 9, 2002 Ok, Im probably NOT like the other millions of gamers out there, in that I bind my movements to my arrow keys. Specifically in this fashion: arrowup: move forward arrowdown: move backwards arrowleft: strafe left arrowright: strafe right Also, using this configuration, I bind my jump and ducks like this: jump: kp_ins (or keypad zero) duck: ctrl (right control key) Now, the BUG happens when I try to strafe+move forward+jump (also known as WALL WALK) using this configuration. It simply will NOT accept the jump command while walking diagonally (ie strafing and moving forward). I've tried this on several keyboards, and always with the same results. However this works for other games, even Quake3, which leads me to believe this is a bug in this game. Thank you.
hughJ Posted April 9, 2002 Posted April 9, 2002 as far as I know, keyboard key buffer is a hardware issue in the keyboard itself (some limit themselves to 3-4 key presses, others have an unlimited buffer)... the fact that you say it works in other games is weird, especially considering Q3 and JK2 are on the same engine...
Lord Nodata Posted April 9, 2002 Author Posted April 9, 2002 its' GOT to be the game, and not the hardware, since i can run diagonally (strafe+forward) and attack at the same time, however, i can't run diagonally and JUMP at the same time

Lord Nodata Posted April 9, 2002 Author Posted April 9, 2002 no, it isn't, however, i have MANY other things bound to the keyboard, and I use them in succesion with strafe and walk forward
