Wes Janson SMR
The hell is an "MOH"? And JK2's been out for a few weeks now. ;-) ---EDIT--- You rather people say, "Pay attention to my damned post, ya' bunch of pansies!!"? Bump's the simple forum lingo for simply moving a post back up to the top. You know, to trick people into thinking that someone made an actual, viable response. sithlord-II
MOH is medal of honor, another quake 3 engine based game
Wes Janson SMR
Oh, okay. Don't play too many other Quake-based games.
Tems
JK2 is out, but te devkit isnt. i was saying that the MOH devkit was just released and this is a good sign for the JK2 devkit, not the game. -Tems
Jafo
Maybe Im confused... but why would MOH devkit (lol) being released have any bearing on JK2 devkit (lol) being released?
Tems
its one less thing bogging down the gtk team
UniKorn
Yes, but the Raven tools will probably be released sooner. The pain in the ass is that they need approval from lucasarts and activision => slow process.
UGG
Maybe Im confused... but why would MOH devkit (lol) being released have any bearing on JK2 devkit (lol) being released?Nothing. It's just wishful thinking caused by extreme desperation. C3: Look R2! A Jedi Outcast GDK! We're saved! R2: Nope, it's just another bloody mirage. C3: But the raven promised us one. WTF is it? R2: Dunno, maybe the Jawas stole it. C3: Curse those little brown bastards!

B0rG
Its probably going to take a little longer than some may expect, because much of the JK2 team went on holidays for a bit (I believe) and the editing tools will have to be documented to some degree. I doubt that the GTK team will have much to do with it. Like EF, its likely Raven just took an early version of GTK and modified it into a JK version for their own use. I'm guessing it'll be called JKRadiant, much like EFradiant, though it will be more powerful than EFradiant, which was based on a much earlier version of Qeradiant. That said, hopefully we won't be waiting much longer.
UGG
LucasArts' own FAQ says that it's based on Q3Radiant, not GtkRadiant. They might call it JKRadiant, but more likely it will be JORadiant. If it were up to me, I'd call it DarthRadiant. UniKorn, wise man who had his droid stolen once said, "the only good Jawa is a dead Jawa!"
Dea
you can built the structure for maps already if you have q3 , just download the q3 version of the radiant editor, extract all textures in your baseq3 dir, as well as the shader files, and use the 'load texture directory' in the radiant editor.. you just can't place any items on the map.. but I think the real editor will be released by the time you finish a (desent) map
penitentman
Anyone know if it's possible to get gtkRadiant levels to work with the Quake3 demo? I want to play around with the editor to get familiar, but it looks like I'll just have to wait for the JK2 toolz. Damn it. Damn it all! --Penitentman
Tems
nope. the demo doesnt allow you to use custom maps. sorry. you can still extrat textures from the demo tho and mess around in gtk. -Tems
lightside
The main reason for such the long wait is the trial-and-error process. Ya know, working out the bugs.
UGG
Kinda late to be looking for bugs in the tools they use to make the game, don't you think? You don't have to stuff around with Quake3. You can setup Q3Radiant to load the Outcast textuers from the PK3s. http://forums.massassi.net/html/Forum17/HTML/000102.html
