Bad-Co Posted April 10, 2002 Share Posted April 10, 2002 there is a little publicised bug in the q3 engine (which effects JK2/MOH and RTCW) that, briefly, presumes clients on the same class A are connecting via a LAN. In this case it uses a different protocol with LAN style bandwidth settings to communicate to the server. this causes some error messages including CL_ParcePacketEntities and some totally jerked playing experience for 56k users. Basically if you ip is 213.23.34.122 and you connect to a server with the ip 63.32.32.43 you'll be OK but.... connect to 213.xx.xx.xx and you'll lag. As rtcw and MOH have been patched and this still hasn't been fixed, I'd say it might be irrepairable but i'm hoping if it is Raven will take notice and sort it or at least document the problem.
