How do I kick people?

I was playing a multi-player game and i was killed by someone kicking me, how do I kick people?

Run towards your opponent, right as you collide, hit the Jump key. This does the flip kick -- which ends in a backwards somersault away from the victim. It also works from the side as well as front and rear. It's not easy to pull off, and it does place you well within the arc of your enemy.

 

If you do it just right, the effect is damage (not sure how much) as well as knocking your enemy back and sometimes off their feet, much in the same way as Push.
