tell me your system info (detailed, like mine, please) ALL!!!

I have ruled out the Router on my end...

My second system works fine and it is behind the same router/firewall... Besides I cant even join a LAN game which is usually no problem on network through a router...

Try to join a LAN game on your brothers system and see if it hangs... MINE DOES and it is really starting to piss me off!!!!!

Let me know, hopefully we can figure this out...

Again,

tell me your system info (detailed please) ALL!!!

OK; here it goes:

WIN98

AMD Athlon K7

AMD Athlon 700 MHz

Matrox G400 Millenium

128 MB ram

Soundblaster Live, Creative (Did U have the same?)

DirectX 8.0

If I am not mistaken: U have the same soundcard? I saw at the "Freezing" thread that Forgen wrote:

</quote>"Well, I was having a similar problem to some of you, in single player. My computer was spontaneously restarting every 15 minutes or so. After posting in another thread, I learned that I too was just getting a critical failure causing WindowsXP to reset itself. So I went into the system settings and disabled automatic restart so I could see the error.

Once I saw the error, it turned out to be in my soundcard driver! Suprised me since I assumed it was in my graphics card ( a GF3, like many others). Then I remembered that I had enabled the cvar s_UseOpenAL, which turns on 5.1 dolby digital surround in game (which sounded very nice). I turned that off, and voila! No more crashes. So if anyone else has enabled this, you might want to try turning it off. As for anyone else, make sure to think about how your sound card could be causing your problems, and not just the graphics card. "</quote>

What do U think?

I am actually running a sound blaster audigy...

My live would not work w/the via chipset on this Mb, so i bought an audigy and put the live in the other system and it works fine over there???

I will look for a new driver for sb audgy and load (if available) and try the setting to off as he suggested...

I will let you know...
