BlackDragon
I've done a search here but haven't seen this mentioned before. One of the game types I've really enjoyed playing is UT Assault and I think that it would be ideal for JK2 and the SW universe. For those who don't know, the idea is that two teams play - one attacking and the other defending. The attacking team has a certain succession of goals to acheive within a time limit. The defending team has to stop them. Once the game is finished, the teams swap and the defending team becomes the attacking team and has to do the same mission in a quicker time. I'm not an online MP player coz of slo connections so I don't know how this was received online although I did see a lot of new Assault levels for MP. But think of it in the SW universe... Assault on Naboo: Gungans/Naboo assaulting Theed Palace. Objectives are: Free Pilots, Get to Second Level, Capture Viceroy Assault on Hoth: Imperials attacking Rebel Base. Objectives are: destroy shield generator, disable ION cannon, capture command center. Assault on Endor Shield Bunker. Rebel assault on Bunker. Objectives are: destroy speeder bikes, open doors, destroy shield control room. Anyway, it's just a suggestion. Thoughts?
MessiahErebus
that sounds pretty sweet actually, if and only if you limited the weapons used, and had like no powerups...otherwise it'd be like ffa and it would be lame
BlackDragon
From what I remember (Might load it up again this weekend) if the first attacking team don't complete the objectives in the given time then the defending team will win regardless, without having to play as the attackers so the whole point is to go for the objectives. The number of kills doesn't actually matter. I think good map design will determine the need for powerups and I think that (as it's a mod with a lot of recoding required) the game could be more balanced. You could have a map with Jedi vs Non-Jedi provided (for example) there was an Ysalamiri powerup for the non-jedi's, gun positions only availble to the non-jedi and that Jedi couldn't pick up guns etc. Also on Jedi vs Sith maps (for example) you would have maps that would be designed to be navigated using force speed, force jump etc. Could also design it to be won with team work (someone has to operate a console to let other people in etc.)
