tomservo51 Posted April 13, 2002 Share Posted April 13, 2002 Also, if you are behind a gateway or a router your IP my not be routable, hence your friends wont be able to see your machine anyway. If you are using a 9x client (98 or Melenium) Click your start button, then run, type WINIPCFG. If you have an IP starting with 10 or 169, then your outta luck. Or you have Windows 2000, Click start, run, type command, then type ipconfig. This would not be the case unless you have more than one machine connected to the internet through you cable or DSL.
