Error trying to load SP game

I can run the game in MP fine, full settings, play for hours. However I can't get the single player game to start at all. It gets about 1/4 of the way loading and then disappears. Im left with a console box that has the following error in it:

 

Not a JPEG file: starts with 0x49 0x44

 

I have tried defragging my HD, uninstalling and reinstalling, changing all the video settings, changing vid card drivers, having a friend send me a save game, using the console to goto a different single player level.....all result in the same error before I even get into the level.

 

System:

1 gig athlon

Geforce3 ti 200

512 megs ram

I have tried 21.83, 23.11, and the 28.35 Nvidia drivers

 

 

Anyone else getting the same error?
