Flexie
My specs: AMD Athlon XP +1700p, MSI K7T Turbo, Creative GF3 Ti200, 512 mb, WinXP. When I start jk2sp.exe, everything works fine. No problems at all. Now, when I start jk2mp.exe, the loading console flashes for 0,5 secs and disappears. Boom.. then nothing. It doesn't even report an error message. I am really PISSED off since I just don't know what to do. I've tried everything... reinstalling, defragmenting, changing drivers, blah blah blah... I know most of you automatically think that it has to be a GF3/XP/AMD/(enter your problem here) but I don't see how it's possible because the sp works just fine... Habitual Lesion
I have the exact same problem and I am completely in the dark (no pun intended) I start up jk, click multi player and the screen flashes for a second, then just sits at a black screen and does nothing and I end up having to reboot, it's very annoying. I'm running: AMD800, VooDoo5 5500, 576 ram, Win2k pro I'm about to quit this game if I can't find a solution to this problem and I really don't want too. HBK
I too am in this boat. But the wierd thing is, and I'm not sure about your experience, mine worked up until 2 days ago. I've had it since the day it came out. I never had 1 problem then BAM, launching either SP or MP- I would stay at my desktop. I reloaded all my drivers and finally when I reinstalled my VIA chipset drivers my SP worked, but MP still does not. Now when I launch MP, the screen goes black and nothing. The monitor actually turns off. I can HEAR it running properly, but I am stuck at a black monitor. So far I removed and reinstalled all drivers, removed and reinstalled Directx, reinstalled the game--nothing I'm just pissed it worked for a couple of weeks and out of the blue it crapped out. Kev Boy
You know what it is? It's waiting. Might sound wierd but whenever your JK2 doesn't work , just play something else or turn of your computer and watch some TV , when you turn it back on or quit playing the other game , try again..it will most likely work. (Truning off computer might be best though..)
HBK
I believe I found a solution, at least it worked for me! Little back story: A few weeks ago I wiped my drives and was reloading everything. It wasn't broke or anything, but it was getting slow, I wanted to clean out some stuff I didn't need and I wanted to prep for Outcast. Before I did this, I of course made sure I had all the current drivers d-loaded and burned to disc. Well, when it came to video drivers, I found that Creative( I have an Anihilator 2 GTS) put out there own drivers, and there were of course the detonators. I e-mailed Creative and asked them the difference between the two. Basically they said 1 or the other will do. So I stuck with the detonators since I alrady had them and they never gave me a problem. Loaded them up, bought Outcast, and had 0 problems. All of a sudden it craps out and I'm stuck on a black screen trying to load MP. So I'm trying for a couple of days to fix this. I read back about 5 pages in the Tech Help section and come across a statement made by someone(sorry can't remember the name) offering help to a problem such as ours. It was something like this "remove the nvidia drivers and any trace of them in the regestry". Then I remembered that Creative put out their own drivers. So I went to my control panel and removed the nvidia drivers(didn't go into the regestry). Rebooted. Installed the Creative drivers. Re-booted. Started a JKO MP game, it worked. closed JKO down and tried again. It worked. Closed it down and re-started it, it worked. Shut down the computer, turned it on, started JKO in MP and IT WORKED!!! So maybe ditch the nvidia drivers and dload the card makers drivers. Why the detonators would go bad after a couple of weeks (in my case) I don't know, but the Creative ones work (for now). Good Luck HBK Playing MP by the time you read this... Please post/reply if this worked for you
