Getting skins to work

Hi, whenever i download a skin i put it in my base folder. Then when i go to setup i can see the skin, and i select it. But when i enter a game it isn't there anymore. I just can't select any skins during a game. What am i doing wrong?

u can only use them on unpure servers, pure servers will only run whats in the assets0.pk3 and assets1.pk3 files, also u cant modify these, tehy have to be exactly teh same other wise you cant even connect
