Making My First Skin

I am planning on making my first skin. I have a few questions that I was hoping someone wouldn't mind answering for me.

 

1) Is it possible to use an already created character as a "template" e.g Kyle then cut out the body pieces and paste in the new ones or do I need to start from scracth?

 

2) If i was making myself in as a skin do i need to take photos of front back etc if so can u please tell me what I need.

 

3) Can u please explain in laymens terms how to copy my newly made character into the game without overwriting the any other skins? (the other explanation just confused me)

 

4) how do i make my skin available on the net e.g. after making it getting it ready so i could e-mail it someone?
