Proverb252
Ok, I have Windows XP and a GeForce 2 MX200 card. We just got the card installed from Best Buy so I can actually play JK2. I was so excited as we rehooked the computer up and I put in the JK2 CD. I start it and AGAIN, the message comes up: Could not load OpenGL subsystem. I WAS SO MAD!!!! Why isn't it working? I tried getting new drivers and even tryed the OpenGL Setup, which gave me a message that it didn't support Windows XP as of yet. ARRRGGGHHH!!!! I want to play this so bad!!! Is anyone having a similar problem like this?? I meet all the requirements. I have a Pentium II, 530 Megahertz, GeForce 2 MX200, and DirectX 8.1. Someone please help!!!!! PopSicko
Did you intall the drivers for the card or are you using the ones that XP intalls? I'd personally get the newest Detonator drivers for your card and if it still doesn't work I would suggest possible re-installing Jedi. Good Luck! Proverb252
No, that wasn't the only reason. It was for gaming in general because our last card really sucked. But anyway, I installed the latest drivers and it still doesn't work. I think Windows XP is throwing something in there that's messing it up. trenahk
hmm this sucks for me. i was just looking off http://www.jediknightii.net and was checking out the sys requirements. and this might be the problem I have. Memory: 64MB required. 128 MB RAM required for Windows 2000 and XP. i only have 96mb of ram. what do you have? if you have less than 128mb also that might be the problem. lemme know. -nickolas
Proverb252
Nope, I've got 256 MB of RAM. That should be good enough. I'm currently downloading the 28.35 Nvidia Detonator drivers.

A lot of poeple are getting the opengl subsystem error, and we have not figured out what is causing it yet here, and raven nor lucasarts has said anything. A few questions: 1. how much ram do you have, you realize for Xp/W2k you need at least 128MB? What did you upgrade from, and how did you do the upgrade? Driver wise in particular. NoodlyGod
Heya guys, newest drivers WILL help. The default drivers XP comes with don't have the Open GL stuff, it's just a basic instruction set. This happened with my Radeon 32meg DDR and it happened when I got this Geforce 4 MX440 So, get the latest drivers and the problem should be solved. Also make sure you're running Direct X. http://www.ati.com -Radeon http://www.nvidia.com - Geforce

trenahk
yah i downloaded the drivers for my voodoo3 and it worked. i can get back in the game again... but, the video is screwed up.. cant adjust the brightness settings, and the game is very dark. also, when i played... the game was fine, except for the sky.. it had like flashing lines of black/sky color.. was wierd. heres a screen shot. i edited the picture more brighter with photoshop so you could actually see the lines and stuff. but atleast now i have something to work with.. Proverb252
ARRRGGGHHH!!! It's STILL not working even with the new drivers I got. What are you supposed to do after you download the driver?
Proverb252
Also, what is Nview? When I tried to run it it said that Nview wasn't installed. This this a necessary part of the drivers?
NoodlyGod
Proverb: After you download the drivers you're supposed to find the file you downloaded, and double click it. It'll run through setup and install the new drivers. The latest version of Direct X (8.1) can be found at: http://www.microsoft.com/directx/ To the guy that was having the brightness/graphic problems after finally getting in the game: Make sure your textures are set to 16 bit, rather than 32 bit. I don't remember whether or not a V3 supports a 32 bit color depth. Also, you may try launching the game in safe mode. (There should be a link on the start menu) I don't really know what this does but it's worth a shot. oh yeah: Nview appears to be software used to span the screen across multiple devices. It should be there, so try installing the drivers again or maybe even download them again.
