Each time I try to play the game Star Wars Jedi Knight 2, it crashes to the desktop with a message "Unsupported marker type Ox4a". It says this in the Jedi Knight 2-SP Console.

Please what does this mean and how can I fix it?

thanx

  • 2 weeks later...

id like to bump this thread.

there are SOOO many unanswered threads regarding this exact topic on these boards, it seems no one really knows the answer.

So ive decided (since im having the problem too) to roll it up into one post so that everyone can get a solution (if theres one out there!)

My system specs:

P4 1500mhz

GeForce 2 MX

512mb ram

etc...

ne wayz, when it DOES run, it works like a dream on the HIGHEST settings (low load times, gorgeous gfx, etc) , but when it comes up with these messages (always when loading saved games) it just wont cooperate.

sometimes it says 0x4b (replace 4 with, 2, 3, 6 on different occassions)

Ive sent this problem to tech support...and im waiting on their reply...its been 5 days now....

might re-send it soon.

If someone could help all us fellas stuck with this issue, would be great :) Thanks.

I had a similar problem with STV: Elite Force, only it was usupported marker type JPG. I had to reinstall a few times before the error would go away. The error would appear in the console while trying to load the next lvl in EF. After I reinstalled it loaded fine. My guess is it is a corrupt map or texture file in one of the pak files. Hope this is helpful.

I remember also having to turn off gl extensions in the video options before loading past that point when i was playing STV:EF. It makes the game look kind poor, but once you are past the point it gets that error you can turn it on again. Not sure if that will apply to JK2 but give it a try.
