Internet MP game not showing up in list!

I have scrolled through and I saw a couple of threads but I know one was with LANS and I'm not sure about the other one.

 

BUT last night I tried setting up a game for just me and my friend across the Internet...We tried for hours but my server NEVER showed up in the Internet game server list (It also doesn't show up with GameSpy)....We finally connected by creating an IP favorite. What gives?
