stooges
Please, someone help me. By the way, I have a Swedish Keyboard layout. I wonder if that has something to do with it, but it should not.
Jokis
Try remapping your keyboard or even changing it to an American-type keyboard in the Windows settings; it's just an idea. Perhaps your ~ key is actually another one located on your Sweedish keyboard, so try pushing Shift with any button on your keyboard...you might get lucky. I'm sorry I couldnt be anymore of a help on this question.
danskmacabre
Hi, I live in Denmark and I'm having the same problem. For me, it's because, I have to hit "Alt Gr" and then another key to get the ~ symbol. And since you have to hit Shift and ~ to get the console, I think it confuses the Game. I'm looking into the possibility of setting up a key bind to do this. That means probably editing the Config file. I'll post back here if I get any success. stooges
Thanx, cause I haven´t been able to get it to work yet. It really sucks. I don´t really understand how I edit the config file. Please post back how u are doing.
danskmacabre
OK, problem solved. First you need to go to the drive letter JK2 is installed on. Then the directory: program files\LucasArts\Star Wars JK II Jedi Outcast\GameData\Base In there you will see two files: jk2config.cfg jk2mpconfig.cfg The first one is the single player config file The second one is the Multi player config file. You need to edit both these files. next step, copy these files and store them somewhere else just in case you screw up these instructions. Next, using WORDPAD (not notepad, as notepad won't preserve the formatting.) open the first file, Next look for a statement that looks exactly like this bind ~ "toggleconsole" Change the ~ to something else. (I use the letter "i" , as it's not used by anything else.) Save the file. Do the same to the second file. Then start JK2. Start a game and hit Shift and whatever key you assigned to the console bind. I've tried this and it works fine.. Good luck.

For example a letter of the alphabet that isn't being used yet for a key bind. Very simple.

mindwarp
well I have a swedish keyboard, so here it is: the game is not after "~" character but a key, so the key to be pressed is under "ESC" key, in the corner.
