Sardius
So, here are my specs: 1.3 GHz Athlon 512 MB PC133 SDRAM Geforce 4 Ti4600 w/ 28.32 dets (I'm not gonna bother going BACK to 23.11) WinME (yeah, I'll get XP once I find someone with it) Graphics settings are all up to the max except for volumetric shadows, which costs me about 10 fps. Res is 1024x768, and I'm using Quincunx AA and 4x (32 sample) anisotropic filtering. Anyway, has anyone with this videocard or the Ti4400 had problems with the framerate lowering down to 25 fps at times ? Sometimes it will happen in a small, undetailed hallway, but it really shows in open areas like in Bespin streets. The worst is Yavin Swamp. Sure, there's a lot of foliage, but there's FOG around for God's sake. It's obvious that large, open areas and lots of plants take more processing power, but it should NOT take this much. I thought the GF4 was supposed to do FSAA and anisotropic filtering effortlessly. Or is this just bad coding by Raven ? I understand that 40-50 fps is nothing to complain about, but I didn't pay an absurd amount of money for mediocre performance. I just have a feeling it's a software problem, though. Care to share your framerates in some of those areas and graphics configs ? Thanks.
Jazz
well i ain't got a Ti4600 but from what I have heard the Swamp levels seems to put alot of stress even on the best cards out there. The only things i can reccomend is try other dets, upgrade bios, different Windows ( i hear ME has real bad for memory management) or a long shot maybe faster RAM like DDR. But even with your system your performance should be better. Im sorry i can't anymore
