Does anyone else run this chipset and or MB?

I can not join any MP games, system crashes hard after clicking "join game" I have pretty much narrowed the problem down to the MBand/or chipset!!! I have tried replacing all other hardware from a system that does work and this has to be it???see text below...

I am having an issue with connecting to multiplayer games. I running JK2 on 2 systems at home, both are using a shared ISDN line on a Net gear RH348 modem/router through my network. Both systems see the entire network (5 computers) and talk back and forth no problem.

system 1: FINE

Win 98se

Abit BX-6II MB (intel BX chipset)

P3 600MHZ

256 RAM

Gforce 2 mx400

Sound Blaster live

3Com NIC card

Direct X 8.1

latest drivers on all

This system connects/plays fine over LAN or Internet.

system 2: TROUBLED

Win 98se

Abit VH6-II MB (VIA Apollo Pro 133A chipset)

P3 1000GHZ

512 RAM

Voodoo 5 5500 w/wicked GL drivers

Sound Blaster Audigy

3Com NIC card

Direct X 8.1

latest drivers on all

This system plays and hosts fine over LAN, but crashes hard every time I try to CONNECT to an internet game??? (loxks as soon as I click on the server choice +++internet/LAN,etc.+++)

I can play single player all day with no issues on system 2 and can also host a LAN game without any issues, however when I try to join an Internet game or LAN game, my system locks completely at the server list screen the instant i click join w/standard sound loop?!? I can only get out of that screen by Re-booting??? I thought that maybe it was my video card, so I yanked the Gforce 2 from my other system thinking it was video, but it did the same thing when I put the Gforce in my system? I have uninstalled/re-installed this game about 10 times and still can not get it to connect!

I am running thru a Netgear RH348 ISDN modem/router and have tried placing my system completely out side the firewall and/or opening the specified ports, but still the same???

I have installed the latest VIA chipset drivers and still no go!!!

I am able to play games such as Unreal Tournament, AVP 2 and many others thru LAN/Internet, NO PROBLEM on all of my networked systems!!! I (for the hell of it) tried these senarios on Quake 3 and guess what? THE SAME THINg HAPPENS with Q3!!! It would seem that this issue is tied directly to system 2's hardware?/software? and any Q3-based games?????

Can anyone shed some light on this?!?!?

PS: The exact same thing happens on system 2 when running Quake 3.

I AM BOGGLED..............HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
