Digi_Shaman
I'm having a problem in that everytime I install Jedi Knight II, the installation ends up corrupted in some manor or way. For instance, the first time I installed it I ended up with a console error at startup. This will continue to happen untill I uninstall and reinstall the game. The second time I install it, the problem this time might be with corrupted textures or characters. But this is where it gets strange, these very problems also happend if I try and install Medal of Honor which is also based on the Quake3 system, yet I don't have a problem installing the actual Quake3 game itself. Just for the purpose of diagnostics, I've tried installing from both my Acer CDRW drive and Acer CDROM 50x drive and get similar resaults. But, installing from the CDRW drive seems to make the installation even more noticable corrupt. I've tried cleaning the lenses on both drives with a new Maxell CD Lens Cleaner, updated the motherboard BIOS, updated the firmware on both drives, Updated the Intel Application Accelerator drivers (DMA drivers really), and downloaded all the latest updates for Windows XP (which was a vergin installation on a clean drive) For what it's all worth, I'm at a loss. I've tried EVERYTHING short of formatting and reinstalling Window XP...which is what I do NOT want to do at this point. I've also ran motherboard, CPU, and RAM diagnostics with various $300 boot disk utilities and Windows proggies. All concluded my system was fine. So the question is, am I alone. Is there something else I'm missing. HELP ME PLEASE!!!! ARRRGGhhhhhhahaaa
Chiles4
Try copying the entire CD to a folder on your hard drive and then run the SETUP.EXE from there.
Digi_Shaman
It doesn't work. I guess it's part of a copywrite scheme.
