Wrong skin referenced?

As you may know I am working on a weequay skin. Right now it is functioning on the skin level, but I tried to make it a new directory and get an error.

 

Right now all of my skin files are located here:

 

models/players/weequay

 

They work fine in this directory so I decided it is ready for the rest of the JO community and try to change the dir structure so it won't overwrite the other files. I go in and rename the dir to be this:

 

models/players/lav

 

All of my skin files have been change to things like:

 

head_lav.jpg

chest_armor_lav.jpg

ect.

 

So then I go in and edit the model_default_lav.SKIN so that the Weequay dir is changed to the lav directory. I repack the pk3 file and put it in my base dir. I launch the server and select my skin. The icon_default_lav.jpg works fine, so I select the skin and now it shows up as Kyle. I didn't touch the models/players/stormtrooper/caps.tga files so I am clueless as to why it is picking Kyle instead of my skin. Any ideas?

It could be that you've forgotten to copy the "model.glm" into the new "lav" folder. I forgot to do that with one of my skins and it did exactly what you described. The icon worked, but when you selected it, it would go back to Kyle.

I thought I read that if it's a pure server it will most likely override your skin.
